Daniel's Race

Our 5K is in remembrance of Daniel Myslivecek, who lost his battle with Melanoma at the age of 16. A friend of Daniel's organized the first 5K in 2006 to help the family with medical costs. Daniel ran in that first race and died 4 months later from his illness.

Each year, we award a $1,000 scholarship to a Churchville-Chili High School student and identify a need of a local family who has a child dealing with a life-threatening illness. The proceeds remaining after the support of that family will go to the Samaritan's Medical Fund at Golisano Children's Hospital. This fund helps additional families who don't have the means to pay for treatment or the equipment that allows children to recuperate at home.
